Home Design Trends for 2014

The Amish Originals design team just got back from a productive (and exhausting!) trip to market last week.  As a result, we’ve got new accessories and home décor items arriving daily.

As we trolled through the vendors in Atlanta, we also had the opportunity to see all of the hottest interior design trends for the season.

Colors:  The Pantone color of the year is Radiant Orchid and pops of this bright pink hue are everywhere.  Picture frames, lamps and throw pillows are a great way to update your home in this distinctive shade without being overwhelmed.

Also, indigo or navy blue is joining gray as the season’s most popular neutral; we saw upholstered and painted furniture, as well as accessories in solids and patterns in the rich blue shade.

Metal:

Gold and brass are back in a big, big way. Everything from knobs and hinges to light fixtures and gilt frames are being displayed with a gold and brass metallic finish.

Global: Ethnic prints were found all over this season’s market—we loved the globally inspired art, mosaics and ceramics that had both Asian and African influences.   Layering and mixing the bight patterns add a bold and eclectic look to any style or décor.

Natural:  Our most favorite new trend of the season is the extensive use of natural elements being beautifully incorporated into home interiors. Wood, leaves, jute, sea grass, wicker and cork add texture as well as an element of cleanliness and freshness to any room.

Stop by Amish Originals soon to see all of our new finds for the season!
